Our kittens are not bargain bin finds \u2013 they are friends for life<\/strong>! A reputable breeder invests heavily in time, love, and resources to give the little ones the best possible start.<\/p>\n

\n A pet-quality cat from a reputable breeder costs between \u20ac900 and \u20ac1,300.
\n Alternatively, adopting a neutered cat offers a wonderful opportunity to give an adult cat a home.\n <\/div>\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Why not a backyard breeder?<\/h4>\n

A pedigree costs only about \u20ac18, and association membership about \u20ac40 per year. If a breeder doesn’t join an association, it’s not because of the costs, but because they want to avoid the strict breeding guidelines and health checks<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

How do you recognize a reputable breeder?<\/h3>\n

A good breeder doesn’t hide their cats. Look for the following points:<\/p>\n

  • Transparency:<\/strong> The entire house is available to the cats; no isolation (not even for the stud!).<\/li>\n
  • Hygiene:<\/strong> There should be no odor; living areas must be clean and well-maintained.<\/li>\n
  • Observation:<\/strong> The breeder spends plenty of time with their cats to detect illnesses early.<\/li>\n
  • Health certification:<\/strong> Annual health certificates for all breeding cats are mandatory.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n

    Parting with neutered cats<\/h3>\n

    Sometimes we must part with neutered cats to maintain harmony in the group<\/strong>. This has nothing to do with “getting rid of” them. Intact and neutered cats in one group are a daily challenge. When harmony is disrupted, it’s in the cat’s best interest to find a loving single-cat home or a place in a calmer group.<\/p>\n
